North Mule is another great canyon hike in the Cedar Mesa area of Bears Ears National Monument. There is an easy access from Highway 95 as indicated in this included route. The trail is mostly on firm sand, but occasionally on rock and mud. The first ruins are not too far in and they're excellent. We saw a small piece of arrowhead or cutting device and left it there as everyone should. Follow the indicated path for the best approach and be careful up there because it's exposed. There are more nice Anasazi ruins a little further up too. The canyon widens and deepens as you continue and the views are always excellent.
