This is a beautiful stretch of challenging whitewater in the unspoiled surrounding of the central Ozarks. The route winds through rugged canyon blanketed in hardwood forest. There are many rapids along this stretch ranging from class II to class III. A heavy wetsuit or insulated drysuit is recommended as the season for running this creek is in the winter and early spring. The take-out at Long Pool Recreation Area has restrooms and campground facilities if you plan on making this an overnighter with the next reach of river.
