Frog Bayou is a popular whitewater destination with a level of challenge that makes it accessible to most. Although it flows near civilization the natural state of its banks creates a wilderness feel. Stream flow here is more regular than on many small creeks in the region due to regular releases from the dam at Lake Fort Smith that supplement flows from Clear Creek upstream. Keep your eyes peeled for fallen trees and willow jungles that present a hazard to boaters. The best time to run Frog Bayou is during the cold season so a heavy wetsuit or drysuit is necessary.
