Greers Ferry Lake is a large reservoir created by an impoundment of the Little Red River near the towns of Tumbling Shoals and Heber Springs. Located at the eastern edge of the Ozark Mountains the surrounding area consists of hardwood and evergreen forest and agricultural lands. This area of the lake is accessed from Cove Creek Recreation Area and is essentially a large bay with a small island in the center that begs exploration. The shoreline in this area varies from wooded on the West to extensively developed to the East.
