Illinois Bayou provides an entertaining reach of whitewater through Arkansas hill country. The scenery is good and surroundings are largely unspoiled; most of the farmlands you pass are obscured by the stream’s wooded banks. This run is dependant on heavy local rainfall to reach optimal flows for paddlers. Be on the lookout for fallen trees particularly in the first mile of the run.
