Lake Maumelle is a large reservoir between the Ouachita National Forest and Little Rock Arkansas surrounded by hardwood and evergreen woodlands. Entering the water is not permitted at the lake as it is a culinary water supply for the city of Little Rock but paddling and fishing opportunities are good. The area of the lake accessed from Maumelle Harbor offers some winding shoreline to explore and a few islands. Use of the boat ramp at Jolly Roger’s Marina requires an access fee.
