Millwood Lake is a large reservoir in southern Arkansas surrounded by woodlands, wetlands and farms. Much of the western edge of the lake is hemmed by flooded forest that provides shelter for a variety of fish species. The lake is known for having the greatest variety of bird species in the region, counted at over three hundred varieties. The area accessed from Millwood State Park is bordered on the south by highway 32 and has some sandy beaches to paddle along. There is a trail system nearby at the Cypress Slough Public Use Area.
