This pleasant paddle wanders through Ozark hill country with unspoiled hardwood and evergreen forest lining the banks. Occasionally tall scenic bluffs tower above the river and wildlife is plentiful. The take-out is at a broad beach on the right bank in the Blanchard Springs Recreation Area and is an excellent place to lounge and soak up some sun. This route is only runnable at highwater making it an excellent alternative to other streams that may be unrunnable at high flows.
