Pedaling west out of Sheridan you’ll endure the traffic of U.S. Highway 270 until you head south at Poyen on quieter country roads. This cycle tour is surrounded by pastoral landscapes and damp woodlands with small streams meandering through. At Leola a loop begins taking you past farms and through the community of Carthage before bending north back to Leola and eventual retracing much of the beginning of the route.
