There are some large drops to be negotiated on this section of the Spring River and nice scenery to go along with the excitement. Expect wooded banks surrounded by farmlands and the opportunity to view wildlife. You’ll encounter a three foot drop at mile 3.5 (Devils Chute) after this begin preparing for a portage another half mile on; this is a dangerous low water bridge that could easily trap a paddler. Take-out is at Hardy Public Beach where you’ll find a nice spot to soak up some sun.
