The Strawberry River wanders through agricultural land in the rolling foothills of the Ozarks. The banks are lined with hardwood trees and exist largely in a natural state. Deadfall blocking the stream is a hazard to keep a watchful eye for and having an experienced paddler with swiftwater rescue skills in your group is wise. There is a low-water bridge that must be portaged on the river right at approximately mile 7.5. Take-out for this paddle is at the bridge for AR 58 near Poughkeepsie.
