Horsetooth Mountain Open Space is a popular place for locals of Fort Collins. The same locals who refer to the most prominent feature of the park as the Tooth, formerly known as Horsetooth Rock. This hike climbs through grass covered foothills and pockets of forest to a cliff where water tumbles through a narrow inlet. Beyond Horsetooth Falls, the trail climbs even higher over rock outcrops to Horsetooth Rock. Some scrambling may be required to reach the summit where open vistas await.
