Mount Elbert is the highest peak in all of Colorado. The trail to Mount Elbert steeply climbs through a forest of lodgepole pine and spruce fir before entering the alpine tundra along the peaks northeast face. The final section of the trail follows a ridge and passes a false summit before reaching the true summit where you'll find incredible mountain views.
