Picketwire Canyonlands is a nice kept secret in Colorado. This route travels through desert terrain of sand and rock. It is mostly doubletrack and some dirt roads. It begins with a fast descent into the canyon and parallels the Purgatoire River. It also passes by a historical spotting of dinosaur tracks. Be sure to bring lots of water because conditions can be very hot and dry.
