This off-road trail offers some amazing scenery as you cross the Continental Divide at over 12,000ft. This route was used by miners in the late 1800’s. You can begin at either end of the trail. This mapped version begins in the ghost town of St. Elmo. The trail has some rocky sections and a lot of smooth trail. One large boulder section is narrow with overgrown brush. Once above treeline, the trail narrows with some switchbacks. Primitive camp spots are found all along the way. Stock 4X4’s may have a difficult time. Snow may be present into July.
