The Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is a sanctuary for migratory birds. It is located along the western shore of Delaware Bay and it contains a variety of habitats, including freshwater and salt marshes, woodlands, grasslands, ponds, and forested areas. It supports 267 species of birds and a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. On this route, you will ride through most of these habitats and have opportunities to view a wide variety of wildlife. You will also ride on a road that parallels the long sandy beach and end in a beach parking area. The views are spectacular across Delaware Bay, over the diverse marshes, and into the forest and fields.
