This designated canoe trail covers 27 miles of the Aucilla River, a wild and scenic river defined by high limestone banks and oak canopy vegetation. The river is best suited for intermediate and experienced paddlers due to shoals, rapids, and natural obstructions that all require skillful maneuvering skills, especially during low water. There are multiple access points along the canoe trail that can be used to customize a shorter trip but some are harder to access and have no parking or limited parking available. There is camping available along the river trip but check SRWMD for reservation information and also for current water levels.
