This large 10,000-acre freshwater reservoir located on the Ochlockonee River offers paddlers plenty of shoreline for paddling and wildlife viewing just west of the busy metropolis of Tallahassee. A state park located on the south side of the lake offers easy access to the water as well as picnic areas, fishing piers, and hiking trails. This paddling trip starts from the state park access and follows the shoreline to the east but paddlers can explore many miles of shoreline and open waters in all directions from the state park launch or other public access sites located around the lake.
