Combining short pieces of the 2100-mile Appalachian and 290-mile Benton trails, this adventure offers great hiking as it winds through the southern-most parts of the high country in the North Georgia Mountains. From atop Springer Mountain there are spectacular views of the surrounding Chattahoochee National Forest mountains and valleys. At the end of a short side trail, on the way up Springer Mountain, there is a great spot to have a lunch on a picnic table and refill water bottles in the nearby stream.
