Carters Lake, a reservoir created by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1977, is the deepest of Georgia's reservoir lakes at 450 feet deep. Along that note Carters Dam is the tallest earthen dam east of the Mississippi. There are a variety of activities including camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and paddling. Fish in the lake include bass, walleye, catfish, and crappie.
