The Chestatee River comes out of Blood Mountain and is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River. This part of the Chestatee River offers a wonderful mountain paddling experience but without the tough rapids. The river’s banks are heavily wooded with river birch, sycamore and ironwood and provide at least partial canopy along the way. The most significant rapid is Yeehaw Rapid, which is a straightforward and mild Class I Be aware that there is an outfitter who can provide shuttles as well as boats to rent.
