Running through the northwest Georgia, this part of the Conasauga River offers a placid rural float. Outside of a few mild Class I rapids, this narrow river has a slow current; the river never gets more than 50 feet wide. The Conasauga’s heavily wooded banks make a canopy of sycamore, ash and river birch that provides shade along most of the watercourse. Although not required most people who ride this part of the river offer to pay for parking to the storekeepers at the put-in and take-out points.
