Ichawaynochaway Creek, a sandy Coastal Plain creek, drains a large part of southwest Georgia. This part of the creek will require you to navigate around fallen trees along the length of the adventure. The stream’s banks are heavily wooded with cypress, river birch, magnolia, oaks and sparkleberry trees. Sandbars offer great rest spots; while resting watch for the areas wildlife which includes deer, boar, turtles and alligators. Be aware that you may need to have your own saw on hand to cut a path through the fallen trees along the way.
