The 2,775 acre Lake Burton, in the middle of northeast Georgia's mountain wilderness, is a scenic place to paddle and fish. The lake is owned by Georgia Power Company, and is one of the largest producers of hydroelectric energy for Atlanta. Fish that may be found in the lake include Largemouth bass, crappies and trout.
