Lake Hartwell is one of several artificial reservoirs that have been built in the Savannah area, near the border of Georgia and South Carolina. There are a variety that can be done here including camping, boating, swimming, biking and fishing. This is an excellent fishing lake with a variety of species including catfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye and bream. Other wildlife in the lake area include 40 different species of mammal and 250 species of birds.
