The area around the town of Madison, just a few miles east of Atlanta, offers an old Southern charm that makes this road-biking adventure so popular. The route takes you through Madison's historic antebellum residential areas, which has a number of homes registered on the National Register of historic Places. Another highlight of the trip is when you cross Lake Oconee on Park's Mill Road.
