Ohoopee River is a typical Georgia Coastal Plain river lined by cypress trees, with burgundy water that flows over white sandbars. This section is particularly tortuous and has many fallen trees, all of which will make this mild trip a bit more exciting. There are several sandbars along the way which provide excellent spots for lunch breaks, fishing and rest stops. There is a variety of trees that line the river’s banks, including moss-draped water oaks, Ogeechee limes, green willows, sweet gums, pines and river birch.
