Just southeast of the city of Carrollton Richard Lake offers a great family friendly paddle. This lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the purpose of hydroelectric power creation, but is also open to the public for recreation. This is also a descent fishing lake featuring a variety of bass species.
