The Suwannee River, originating from the Okefenokee Swamp, empties into the Gulf of Mexico after running 235 miles, going southwest through Georgia before going on to Florida . Cypress trees line the banks of this South Georgia coastal plain river. This portion of the river is beautiful and generally calm, but does have a couple narrow parts which will require some tight navigation. At the end of the day, this adventure offers a moderately swift, narrow black-water stream with superlative scenery.
