This heavily-wooded forest preserve offers miles of trails that explore scenic landscape located along the Sugar River. There are also some large areas of prairie restoration located within the preserve that are home to abundant wildlife. This hike follows unpaved trail only open to hiking to complete a long and scenic loop through the preserve. There are multiple connecting trails and side trails, including a paved bike trail, that can also be used to add mileage and explore more of the area. The preserve offers picnic areas, restrooms, and canoe access to the river.
