This section of the Fox River starts from Chain O'Lakes State Park boat ramp and travels north up to the Wisconsin/Illinois border and back. The river is very flat with minimal current making it an easy paddle in either direction. Much of the shoreline is wooded and home to abundant wildlife and plantlife. There are also some side pools and channels that can be explored. There is a nice boat access ramp to the river located just south of Hwy 173 that can also be used as an alternate take-out or put-in spot.
