This route is a great way to see and experience the south side of Chicago and its many different scenes. The ride travels past historic residential areas, multiple parks, small lakes, wetland areas, Lake Michigan shoreline, and some industrial areas. The ride follows mostly paved trail systems and urban neighborhood streets but there are sections that see a little more traffic and require some caution. The ride is mostly flat with very little elevation change.
