This out-and-back trip leads hikers along the banks of the Kishwaukee River through a prairie restoration area that is great for viewing a variety of waterfowl and wildlife. The first part of the trail does follow Interstate 90 but after crossing under the bridge becomes much more peaceful and remote. The trail is for pedestrian use only and is still fairly undeveloped and primitive. The trail does provide river access for canoes.
