Following the final stretch of the Du Page River before its convergence with the Des Plaines River, this paddling trip offers diverse scenery including heavily wooded terrain and limestone cliffs with occasional urban developments spread throughout. The river does have some drop in elevation along the route providing some small but exciting riffles. The take-out for the trip is at Channahon State Park which offers some nice hiking trails, picnic areas, and campgrounds. There are also some alternate take-out spots located along this stretch of river allowing paddlers the option of setting out for a shorter trip if desired.
