This long scenic river runs through mostly forested and farmland terrain that is very remote and home to abundant wildlife. The river is wide and flat so the flow is very slow and easy to paddle. Even though the river is wide, there may be occasional downed trees and logs that can present some challenge, but this is not too common. This section of the river starts at Fox Ridge State Park and continues on for almost 18 miles to the take-out at Greenup.
