This loop hike follows multiple trails within the forest preserve that explore the dense woodlands and open prairies located in the heart of a busy metropolitan area. The forest preserve offers great views of the Illinois River Valley as well as excellent wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunity. There is a nature center at the preserve that provides information and displays about the preserve as well as picnic areas and a gift shop.
