Starting just north of the dam in Geneva, this out-and-back run on the Fox River heads upstream past multiple parks and residential neighborhoods to the bridge in St. Charles and back downstream to the put-in spot at Geneva. The current upstream is pretty mild and not too strenuous until you get close to the turnaround point close to the dam in St. Charles. The trip back downstream is a little easier and more relaxing as you drift down river and take-in the nice scenery and abundant birdlife along the way.
