Glacial Park offers beautiful scenery as well as an interesting display of geological history in the form of intriguing glacial formations. The landscape is comprised of lots of prairies, savannas, marshlands, and most notable of all multiple large mounds, known as "kames" that were formed and left behind by glacial melt. Hiking through the preserve visitors can expect lots of solitude as well as great opportunity for birdwatching. Most of the hike travels near a stream or around a small lake. There are multiple connecting trails and spur trails within the preserve giving visitors the option of exploring smaller or larger portions of the area. There are benches along some of the trails as well as interpretive displays providing information regarding the preserve.
