The trails within Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve provide hikers with lots of solitude, shade, and excellent scenery just 35 miles from downtown Chicago. Multiple trails within the preserve are combined to complete this scenic route which travels through dense woodlands, open prairies, and lush grasslands passing multiple small ponds and creeks along the way. The diverse vegetation and terrain in the preserve provides great opportunity for viewing a wide variety of birds and plants. The preserve offers restrooms, picnic areas, and primitive camping.
