Hasting Lake Forest Preserve consists of a small reservoir, lots of wetlands, and dense woodlands that provide hikers and bikers with a remote area for enjoying nature in a suburban area. The trail system is a short but scenic mowed trail with a short section of connecting asphalt trail. The area is open to hikers and cross-country skiiers. There are also great opportunities for birdwatching in the area and fishing at Hastings Lake.
