This section of the Hennepin Canal starts just west of Hwy 78 and travels east for many miles to the boat landing and day-use area just before lock 21. This section of the canal, like the rest of the canal, has very little current and is very straight and free of obstruction making it a great option for beginner paddlers. The canal does pass through tunnels and aqueducts that make the paddling experience on the canal unique. The terrain and scenery along the canal is mainly rural farmland and wooded terrain that is quiet and peaceful. There are multiple boat landings located along the route providing good resting spots and alternate take-outs for paddlers out for a shorter trip.
