This section of the Hennepin Canal Trail starts at the eastern end and travels through rural farmlands, open spaces, and wooded terrain to the turnaround point at the Hennepin Canal Trail feeder basin. The trail continues past the feeder basin further west or also north along the feeder canal. The trail does not offer a lot of water, restrooms, or food stops right along the trail so be sure to come prepared for a long ride. There are access points along multiple spots along the trail making it possible to shuttle vehicles for a one-way trip. The trail is mostly asphalt and crushed limestone and is fairly level the whole distance making it a good choice for riders of all skill levels.
