This ride offers a lot of diverse scenery and landscape as it follows the banks of the Illinois River and passes through farmland, woodland, and prairie terrain. The elevation change is minimal throughout most of the ride but there are a few smaller rolling hills and some climbing required during the first half of the ride. The roads are not too busy but there are sections of Cloverdale Road that can be busy depending on time of day and also be aware of possible farm equipment on the roads.
