This loop trail leads hikers and bikers through lush vegetation of woodlands and prairies that surround a scenic 115-acre lake. The lakeside loop follows mostly crushed granite trail that follows the shores of the lake ideal for hiking and jogging. There are multiple other trails within the preserve that are paved and great for bicycling. There is also a section of trail that connects to the Des Plaines River Trail. The preserve is a popular destinations for many other types of recreation including fishing, boating, and birdwatching.
