The Iroquois River flows primarily through agricultural land and wooded terrain with very little development along the way providing a peaceful, quiet setting for paddling. This section of river has little elevation change, no dams or obstructions, and convenient put-in and take-out points making it a good option for beginner paddlers except for in times of high water. The river banks on the Iroquois can be steep and muddy making access to the shoreline difficult except for at the take-in and put-out spots. Wildlife viewing and fishing opportunities are also good along the Iroquois River.
