Starting from Atwood Park, this section of the Kishwaukee River is a nice short run down a scenic river that passes through peaceful wooded terrain on its way to the confluence with the Rock River. There is a short section that passes by some residential development but the majority of the run is through a natural wilderness setting. The river at one point splits into two separate channels but these reconnect right before the take-out and bridge at Hinchliff Forest Preserve.
