Located in the city of Hillsboro, this large lake offers miles of tree-lined shores that provide a nice setting for paddling and wildlife viewing. This trip covers the section of lake north of the bridge that enforces a no-wake zone with a speed limit of 5 mph making it a great place for paddlers and fisherman to utilize. The remainder of the lake south of the bridge allows speeds up to 35 mph so use more caution when exploring that part of the lake. A permit is required from the City of Hillsboro for accessing the lake and can be obtained at multiple locations including the marina and city hall for a small fee.
