This ride passes through multiple communities as it stretches between the cities of Edwardsville and Staunton. The trail travels through mostly rural and wooded terrain with multiple parkland areas a section of Historic Route 66 along the way. The trail is all asphalt and crushed stone surface with a few sections of paved and dirt roadway. The trail can connect to other trails in the MCT system for a longer or more customized ride by traveling a few miles on the Quercus Grove Trail southwest of the starting point at the park and ride lot for this ride.
