Starting from the Explosives Road trailhead in the western section of the prairie, these two loops can be combined for a nice hike through scenic prairies and meadows full of beautiful wildflowers and abundant wildlife. The area is especially well-known for excellent birdwatching. The prairies are very vast and open, with little shade, so come prepared if hiking in the sun or during hot temperatures. These two loop trails are only open for hiking but the connecting Henslow Trail can be used for biking.
