Newton Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area provides an excellent place for all types of outdoor recreation including canoeing and kayaking on its miles of scenic, wildlife-filled shoreline. The lake offers lots of side coves and channels that are perfect for exploring. The northern sections of Sands Creek and Laws Creek fingers are restricted areas so getting familiar with the geography of the lake before setting out is important. The area also offers lots of hiking trails, great fishing, and picnicing.
